Sleeping like a Baby

Finn is a baby who loves to be held and after a rocky start and a stint in special care, I am a mama who wants to hold.  Finn is often found snuggled in my arms or snoozing in a sling, and being used to the warmth and comfort of being held, Finn is a child that wants to be swaddled.  During those early weeks, we looked at different ways of helping him sleep happily somewhere other than on my chest, and wrapping him up seemed to be the next best thing.

As part of our role as Babymoov ambassadors, we were sent two different options to try with the dinky one, a muslin blanket and a cosy cover.

The blanket is made of muslin material so it doesn't lose its value once the swaddling days are over.  It is thin enough for the warmest nights, and we used blankets over the top on the cooler ones.  We chose the rock design which was covered in little guitars, records and stars and it washed well, still feeling like new after several weeks.  Finn slept comfortably swaddled in it and now he is bigger we use it for a light cover, a makeshift changing mat, a burp cloth and plenty more.

The Cosy Cover is a more structured swaddle, we placed Finn on top, and secured two seperate velcro tabs around him to keep him feeling secure.  One went over his arms and one around his legs, meaning you can keep it looser on the legs if you prefer.  It was thicker than the swaddle, but still nice and light

I found it so easy to put on, and Finn seemed to feel very secure in it.  It is only suitable for up to 3 months, but we have found that we do only tend to swaddle for the first 2/3 months anyway so it was perfectly sized for a little baby.

The Muslin blanket costs £7.99 and the Cosycover £19.99 - both great prices in my opinion.  Both are brilliant quality and come with a lifetime guarantee too.  I think for longevity and on a budget you can't beat the muslin blanket, but the cosycover is so easy to use and feels more secure for the baby.  We have gone between them both, using whichever is out the wash and Finn hasn't minded the changes at all.

Disclaimer:  I was provided with these items as part of my role as Babymoov ambassador
but all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.
