A Big Camera

You may have noticed that I take photos of my boys .  .  . a lot.

While I don't pretend to know what I am doing, I love recording their childhoods and I see their beauty in each and every picture of them.  I have been relying on my trusty camera phone until now though, but this week I took the plunge and invested in a DSLR - a 'proper' camera.

I am pretty sure that I will be using it in Auto settings for quite some time, but I am really enjoying having a play around and hopefully you will see my photography improve over the coming months.

I thought I would share some photos from the first two days with my new camera so that hopefully I can look back in a few months and see some improvements:

If you have any tips for me then please leave a comment,  I would love some constructive criticism!

  2. Ooooo a new toy! How wonderful! I still remember the first pictures I took with my DSLR - I'd been trying to take a good picture of my Christmas amaryllis for days on the old camera but it kept blowing the red filter. One click with the new one and there it was, exactly as I wanted - such a wonderful and rather relived feeling!

  5. How fun! If you can, get a Lightscoop, it's an amazing accessory that acts kind of like an external flash, but is super cheap. I keep it on my camera nearly 100% of the time (it only works indoors with light colored ceilings since it directs the flash upwards).
