What the kids Wore // Nununu

Ad // Gifted Clothing

It feels like we skipped Spring this year.  Before half term the children were still taking their winter coats into school, after half term we are in shorts and polos with not even a jumper. We have swapped our hot chocolates for ice creams and I am loving the sunshine on my skin each day.

The children were sent some clothing from one of our favourite brands, Nununu and the first thing they commented on as they came out the box, is how soft it all is.  The boys all have thin cotton summer joggers which are perfect for keeping covered up and cool and come in a selection of colours. I love how it can match their personalities, my rainbow boy looking as bright as ever and Archie sticking to his trademark black.  Cora has red leggings and a stripy tee which again are lightweight and incredibly soft.  Nununu is an edgy brand, making clothes for cool kids that still want to be comfortable.

The children have been wearing Nununu for years, we have some items that are on the third child and I am always so impressed with the quality.  Each collection goes well with the past ones (Cora has a romper that matches Finn's trousers perfectly) and it is definitely Archie's favourite brand.  I love the photo below as I can see how much of a gang these little people of mine now look like.  It seems crazy to think they were once all aged 4 and under!

What the Kids Wore // Nununu

My garden isn't my first choice for taking photos.  Whilst it is a good size, it was pretty much a jungle when we moved in and even with a lot of work done to it, it is rough around the edges and always looks in need of some TLC.  With the current lockdown situation though, I have to make do and when Nununu sent the children some clothes, they were desperate to get them on.

This is by far Archie's favourite brand at the moment.  At 7 his favourite colour is black, he likes skulls and anything a bit edgy and everything needs to be soft.  Nununu ticks all the boxes.

We still haven't got round to learning how to skateboard, despite having owned this little board for many years but the children love sliding down the little bit of paving in our garden with it.  Archie has recently shot up (probably the fact that he hasn't stopped eating since the schools broke up) and so this outfit couldn't have arrived at a better time.  The leggings have images down one leg, are soft and stretchy and perfect for slim children.  Archie is a tall 7 year old wearing the 8-9 here and as you can see, they have plenty of growing space.  His top is a sweatshirt material with a hood and short sleeves and a big pocket on the front that you can put your hands all the way through.

We have had Nununu clothes for years and one reason I love them is the longevity.  Cora has clothes that were Finn's, Finn has Archie's and some items will be on to the third child very soon.  Cora was sent an amazing yellow jumpsuit which we layered with a handmedown black Nununu long sleeved tee.  I love how bright this is and how fun it looks.  She is wearing an age 3-4 here as a petite nearly 4 year old and it will fit for a long time still.  The tight cuffs make it easy to start wearing earlier though and the pockets are always a winner!

If you are looking for cool, edgy but incredibly comfy clothing for kids then check out Nununu

Archie's Style - Nununu

Archie's outfit was gifted in exchange for a review

He knows what he likes and he knows what he doesn't.  He makes his own choices and sometimes they are the same as his friends and sometimes they aren't.  He isn't afraid to be different and I love that about him.  He is confident but not in an obvious way, he is thoughtful and loving and he makes me so proud.  He is possibly the easiest of the four children and I feel bad that he doesn't always get as much attention as they might but he is hilarious when you spend time with him one on one, even if he doesn't stop talking.

When Nununu asked if I wanted to pick a few bits off of the website, I knew straight away it would be for Archie, not just because it is often the little two that get sent clothing but because it is just his style.  Nununu is edgy and cool but still playful and comfy.  The shapes are built for movement and play and Archie will always pick his Nununu clothing out his drawers given the choice.  I let him pick his outfit and he went for these red and pink trousers with numbers on them (current favourite colour is pink) along with a short sleeved t-shirt (which we have layered over a long sleeved one for warmth) and a baseball cap which he hasn't taken off since it arrived.

We recently discovered a deserted skate park behind the fire station and it is favourite place to play, running inside the bowl, scooting round the edges and down the sides and trying to read the graffiti (which all seems to be clean words thankfully!) so I took a few photos of him wearing his new favourite outfit here.

I hope this amazing boy of mine continues to be who he is and proud of it.  I know peer pressure will kick in more and more and at 6 he is still so little but I love the person he is becoming.

Archie is an average sized slim six year old wearing the 6-7 here.  The clothes have plenty of growing room and he will get plenty of wear from them.  The trousers have working drawstrings so work well for different shaped children.

We were sent Archie's top, trousers and hat for the purpose of this post
but all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.

What Archie Wore // Nununu

Archie doesn't get as much space on the blog anymore, something that is more his choice than mine.  Archie at five is very capable of telling me when he wants his photo taken and when he doesn't and he shares his opinions freely.  Choosing to work with a brand on a review where he is involved is a difficult decision as I know he needs to love whatever it is to consent to being photographed.  We have worked with Nununu a few times now though and I know how much he loves their clothes so I was pretty confident that when this outfit arrived for him he would manage a pose or two.

Nununu clothing has an edge to it.  With a mostly monochrome pallet it isn't our normal style but I think it suits Archie so much and he loves the skater look.  His favourite trousers are currently his Nununu leggings but I chose these french terry dropped crotch trousers this time as they are a bit thicker for winter.  They are lovely and warm with pocket details on the back and fun skulls on the knees.  Archie is in between sizes really (he is a perfect 5-6 and Nununu do 4-5 and then 6-7) so we sized up and I can see he will get plenty of wear from them.  The jumper is going to go with so much this winter and it would look great with his leggings.  Archie loves the thumb holes on the sleeves, something he hasn't had before! Most of the collections past and present are very interchangeable and Dylan has the joggers in the same star print from a couple of years ago.

The hat completes the outfit and is thick and lined too.  I love this outfit on Archie and more importantly, he loves it too - enough to pose for a photo and even smile! It suits him so well even if he does look 5 going on 15 in it!   The clothes may look grown up but they are made to play in and are well designed and really hard wearing.  The boys have been wearing Nununu for years and everything is still in amazing condition. They move well, they don't restrict them and the

If you are looking for something a bit different then Nununu caters from newborn to 14 years and you can find all the new season on their website.

What the Kids Wore // Nununu

Ed and I met at a rock music festival and we seem to have passed on the love of music, metal and dancing to the children.  Archie asks for heavy metal as soon as we get in the car and Finn and Cora will dance to just about anything.  I love Nununu clothing as it reminds me of Ed and I when we first met.  Their summer range is fun, playful, minimalist and perfect to rock out in.

I took these photos on the way to the beach earlier in the week and they make me think of what is to come in the teenage years.  Cora's potential boyfriends or girlfriends will have three big brothers to convince and I think they are going to be pretty protective of her!  They already call her their princess (A term I really don't like and never use) and this black dress is the perfect princess dress for this little fierce girl of mine.  The inside is soft and comfortable and the netting makes it super fun and girly.

Archie is a big fan of having his letter on a t-shirt and this vest is perfect for the summer and with a big A on the front, you can't go wrong! The shorts are comfy and cool and will be perfect for protecting his knees if he learns to skateboard this summer (He is desperate to learn)

And Finn's long shorts remind me so much of the boys in my teenage years.  They have a slightly distressed look and I think he looks awesome in them! I tried to convince the boys to stand the other way round in the photos so it read A to Z but these children know their own mind and were having none of it! I love the way they came out though, these determined little individuals, full of character and rocking their Nununu clothes.

Finn Wears 3-4 (his normal size), Archie is in 4-5 (he is usually in 5-6) and Cora is in 12-18 months (her usual size) and we find this dress quite slim fitting.  I find their sizing pretty true and their clothes are really hardwearing. We already have a lot of Nununu in their wardrobes and love how well it wears and how versatile it is.

What the Boys Wore // Nununu

Now that Cora is easier to leave, I have started getting more time with just my big two babies.  I know Dylan loves having time just him and I, Archie is very much lost without his brother and if I suggest we do something just us, he asks whether Dylan can come too.  We have been going on a few little adventures and it is so nice not having a pushchair or a toddler to chase after and being able to enjoy their company.  Last weekend we visited a local theme park and the boys wore their new trousers from Nununu.

Archie much prefers leggings when given the choice and I chose these skull print ones for him as I knew he would love them.  They look comfy and they are definitely his new favourites.  The print and style of these is great for slightly older children and I think they look great on him at nearly 5.  Dylan's trousers are more of a harem jogger with slim legs.  They look comfy and stylish and match with so much (including his Nununu top).

Margate is covered in bright graffiti, the perfect place for getting some 'cool' shots if these two didn't decide to poke their tongue out in pretty much every one! I think these clothes really match their personalities well and I love how stylish and fun the Nununu collection is from ninja hoodies (which Archie would LOVE) to statement shapes and classic black, grey and pink shades.  I have found the sizing pretty true and both children are wearing the right size for their age here.

I am really enjoying these days out with my big boys, doing all the things that they miss out on  normally because of the little ones and exploring new places.  We have more adventures planned in the lead up to Christmas and I am hoping to make it a regular thing having a Mummy day with my big pair.

What the Kids Wore // Nununu

Ed and I met at a rock festival many years ago and we both share a love for music and heavy metal which the children seem to have inherited.  We don't have any of the Disney tunes playing on car journeys, the boys ask for rock and roll or metal tunes to dance along to on the back seat.  They know their minds and they are starting to know their style, taking more interest in what they wear and what I buy.

Nununu is a minimalist kids clothing brand who believe that children are blank slates and that simple clothes can let them be more creative.  I chose a piece from their collection for each of the children - t-shirts for the older two, harem joggers for Finn and an all in one romper for Cora.  Each item was simple and shared their basic black, grey and white colour pallet, although the small two have the softest powder pink too.

The boys love their 'cool' tops, the familiar skull that they see emblazoned on pirate flags and the simple colours were a big hit and it meant we could easily add colour to the outfit with brighter shorts if we wish.  Nununu make clothes that appeal to the parents too and I can imagine Ed in one of the tees.

I on the other hand would love a bigger version of Finn's trousers.  They look so comfortable, are super soft and they are perfect for running, climbing and exploring in.  The pink is so pale and so unisex, especially pared with a plain black t-shirt and I loved adding this subtle colour to Finn's wardrobe.  The harems are so light weight and perfect for summer and match with Cora's romper.

Cora's romper is again light and soft and so practical for a crawling, cruising baby.  We sized up and it fits really well but does come down to her ankles when she is stood up so she should get a lot of wear from it!  We went for their normal size with everything else and found the sizing quite accurate.

The clothing we received from Nununu are great quality, comfortable and stylish and I think these are going to be summer staples for them all.  They look edgy, fun but still childish and everything can be passed down to the next child as the younger two's bits especially are very unisex.

You can buy Nununu direct from their website and they do clothing from babies up to adults with a brilliant 'shadows' section for 8 - 14 year olds.
