A Warmer Day

In the middle of rain and wind, of runny noses and chesty coughs, we saw a ray of sunshine. We woke up to blue skies and the kind of weather that needs only a light jacket.  After weeks of soft play, coffee shops and puddle splashing, a visit to the park was exactly what we needed.

Wellies on, because we can't quite get out of the habit, but our winter coats left hanging on the coat hooks. A five minute stroll for Dylan and I and a chance for Archie to play with his new Smart trike.

Despite the glorious sunshine, the park was deserted and all the big kids were back at school.  We had the swings, the slides and the climbing frames to ourselves and we loved the freedom.

The boys played together and seperately, with me and alone.

Archie got covered in mud crawling on the floor, but he is at the awkward age of not wanting to sit still, but not walking yet either.  I couldn't confine him so the only option was to let him get dirty!

We were pirates on our ship, we ate pretend meals made in a pretend kitchen and we found plenty of treasure.  We had a few issues when Archie decided that the treasure looked quite tasty and as it had all come from the park floor, it wasn't really the best thing to eat!

We jumped over the pontipine bridge, found the best sticks, and Archie was entertained with his new set of wheels, and the noisy phone attached with plenty of buttons.  He watched on, desperate to join in, to run around and kick leaves with us, but content to be able to watch everything from his new trike.

We came home for bagels and bananas, a filling lunch after a busy morning.  A day of sunshine when we needed it.  Hopefully it means that spring is on the way!

  1. Gorgeous photos, so much colour! We love taking M to the park on his smarttrike. But he now climbs out of it if we forget to do the straps lol.
