Our Rainbow Buggy - Stokke Summer Kit

Summer is full of colour from the green of the healthy grass, the blue of the sky and sea and the yellow of the sunflowers.  The new summer kit from Stokke is perfect for enjoying the colour with its  vibrant rainbow stripes and it stands out everywhere we go.

The summer kit fits onto an existing pushchair and comes as a hood, back panel, bumper bar cover, terrycloth seat liner and sun sail.  The hood has UPF5 50+ protection  to keep baby cool even in the heat and the packaway sun sail shades them from direct sunlight.  The liner absorbs moisture to keep the little one cool and is easily washable.

Everywhere we go, we turn heads, this pushchair stands out for all the right reasons and I am going to be very reluctant to go back to our usual red when the summer comes to an end.

This summer kit is suitable for the Stokke Crusi, xplory, trailz and the xplory carrycot and costs £119.  We are using it on our Stokke Crusi for Finn at the moment - I love how high up he is and how comfy he looks in the seat.  It is brilliant to be able to completely update our pushchair each season and I am definitely planning on getting a winter kit when the weather cools!

Stokke Crusi

Having three children so close together means having a puschair with more than one seat is essential.  Whilst I tend to use a single for the majority of trips out, we use a double at least once a week and I was excited to be sent the Stokke Crusi to try out.

Review of the Stokke Xplory V4

Stokke Xplory v4, stokke pram review

stokke review, stokke xplory v4, stokke deep blue

When it comes to Pushchairs, Stokke are top of the range, and we have been finding out why.  We were sent a Stokke Xplory V4 in Deep Blue and I have to admit I am a bit of a convert.   Unfortunately Archie was not a fan of sitting in the pushchair for photos, but if you follow me on instagram then you will have seen him looking happy in it.

My favourite feature is the height of the child.  I still love having Archie parent facing, and when it is just the two of us, we have a little chat as we walk.  Having him more in eye range makes such a difference, and the height means he can see so much more as well.  With both the bloke and I being tall, it is also much easier to lift him in and out without bending as much (although the downside to this is that he can't climb in himself as he does with lower seats).

The (Pre)School Run

Dylan started preschool in September, and after three years of living on our own schedule, it was a shock to the system for us all.  We are not a family of early risers, and we didn't like to rush our waking up.  Cuddles on the sofa with milk were followed by a leisurely breakfast, a little play and then dressed ready for our day.  If we had a late night, we had a lie in, if we had nowhere to be then pyjamas until lunchtime is standard!  After three years of living life our way, the preschool routine has set in, and this is it now, quite possibly forever, as preschool is followed by school, and secondary school and work.

As it happens, the little guy adores preschool, and our preschool run is exactly that, a run.  His little legs work hard and run all the way there, eager to see his friends whilst I walk fast with Archie snug in the buggy.  This works quite well as we are usually running late as well!  It is less than half a mile each way so it doesn't take us long at all.

Stokke Steps

stokke steps, stokke highchair review

We were sent the new Stokke Steps Highchair a few weeks ago to test out and I have to say, I am completely won over.  Its simplistic style, grown up colour options and wipe clean surfaces make it the perfect addition to our dining room.

Pushchairs to look out for in 2014

As you may have noticed, I have a bit of a thing for buggies.  As a non-driver, they are my only set of wheels and I love discovering new brands, new designs and spotting them out and about.  After having the opportunity to test a few, I do feel like I know my stuff too, and the Baby Show last weekend only served to fuel this obsession.  I thought I would share my top 5 for 2014 - new colours, styles or updates for the year that I think are going to be big

First up is the icandy Raspberry.  I bought a Cherry when I was pregnant with Dylan and still love it now.  Icandy pushchairs are noticeable, well made and I love the beautiful colours for this new design.  The Raspberry is new and is a from birth stroller that will be available from spring/summer this year.  It can be world or parent facing and folds incredibly compactly with the seat still on.  It lies flat and I mean completely flat which makes it suitable for a newborn, or for those rather odd babies like mine who will not sleep on their back even in a buggy! The black chassis is classy and makes the coloured hood really pop, and there is a silver aluminium option too.  With interchangeable colour packs that come in 7 gorgeous shades, the buggy can change with the season or your mood.  I love the black chassis, and for me the lush(red) or sunflower(yellow) are the best colours - bright and unisex.  Everything seems so well thought out from the adjustable handle, the way it folds with the handle in the air, and the hard case at the front of the buggy for storage.

The Baby Show

I adore my gorgeous little boy but it is lovely to have a bit of time sometimes just me and the bloke.  Ironically we decided to spend a day away together visiting The Baby Show at Earl's Court.  We had a lovely day exploring the stands as expectant parents and making the most of some fantastic offers from some of the companies.

tots bots, fluffy postThe baby show is the place to shop for all your baby needs from pregnancy through to toddlerhood and the exclusive discounts mean you can't help but leave with a bargain.  We caught up with brands we already love and discovered plenty of new ones. We bought some lovely clothes for Dylan and all sorts of gorgeous bits for little Mr Squish.  We also spent time checking out the double pushchair options ready for next year.

The stall we looked for first was the last one we found and that was the lovely
