Pushchairs to look out for in 2014

As you may have noticed, I have a bit of a thing for buggies.  As a non-driver, they are my only set of wheels and I love discovering new brands, new designs and spotting them out and about.  After having the opportunity to test a few, I do feel like I know my stuff too, and the Baby Show last weekend only served to fuel this obsession.  I thought I would share my top 5 for 2014 - new colours, styles or updates for the year that I think are going to be big

First up is the icandy Raspberry.  I bought a Cherry when I was pregnant with Dylan and still love it now.  Icandy pushchairs are noticeable, well made and I love the beautiful colours for this new design.  The Raspberry is new and is a from birth stroller that will be available from spring/summer this year.  It can be world or parent facing and folds incredibly compactly with the seat still on.  It lies flat and I mean completely flat which makes it suitable for a newborn, or for those rather odd babies like mine who will not sleep on their back even in a buggy! The black chassis is classy and makes the coloured hood really pop, and there is a silver aluminium option too.  With interchangeable colour packs that come in 7 gorgeous shades, the buggy can change with the season or your mood.  I love the black chassis, and for me the lush(red) or sunflower(yellow) are the best colours - bright and unisex.  Everything seems so well thought out from the adjustable handle, the way it folds with the handle in the air, and the hard case at the front of the buggy for storage.

20 Facts about Me

I love recording our lives and writing all about my beautiful boys, but the lovely Sarah shared 20 facts about herself and tagged me to do the same and I liked the challenge.  It wasn't easy and I can't promise all or even any will be particularly interesting, but here are 20 facts about me.

1. Despite being made to mime in my primary school choir, I sang for a couple of years in my local church choir.

2. I had my nose pierced for a couple of years in my early twenties but had to take it out for work reasons.  I still have my ears, my belly and my tongue pierced though.

3. My degree is in English Literature but I also studied modules in Psychology and Greek Mythology.

4. I am a bit like Joey from freinds when it comes to food - I am terrible at sharing.

5. My hair has been every colour under the sun, red, blue, blonde, black . . . but I haven't seen its natural colour for well over 10 years now.

6. I love to travel and have so many places I still want to see.  Top of the list at the moment is doing the Trans-Siberian through Russia.

7. I love having cosy feet and like to have a pair of slippers in every room of the house so I never have to hunt for them.

8. My favourite Christmas film of all time is Miracle on 34th Street - we watched it every year when I was growing up and I can't wait to introduce my boys to it.

9. I always have the TV on an odd number for volume.  It drives my sister crazy (she is all about the evens) but I have to have it on an odd.

10. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would put everything into storage and go travelling for a year with my boys.  I would love to show them the world, and why not now?

11. I love a cheesy chick flick and my favourite movie is 10 things I hate about you.

12. I never wear my socks in pairs (unless it is a complete accident).  Life is too short to waste time pairing up socks.

13. I don't have a driving licence despite hundreds of lessons and several tests*

14. My favourite colour is red.

15. I had both my boys in the same hospital that I was born in.

16. I have only ever ridden a horse once and that was on a cattle ranch in the Australian outback.

17. I love cheese in every form, especially cheesecake.

18. Before my buggy obsession started, it was all about the heels and I have several bookcases full of shoes in my house.

19. I am incredibly messy - If there are ever photos of inside my house on this blog then I probably tidied up especially for them.

20. When I was younger, my mum used to take me to musicals as a birthday treat and I still have a huge love for them.

So there we have it, Me in 20 facts.  If you fancy joining in then let me know!

*More than 5, less than 8 - some people should just not be on the road and I am clearly one of them!

Autumn

Autumn appears to have landed and as much as I will miss the carefree days of summer, Autumn is my favourite season.

I love the colours- the warm reds and browns as the leaves fall from the trees and the excuse to change up my wardrobe.  I know many of you will still be mourning the sun so I thought I would share some of my favourite things about this new season:

Cable knit, whether it be tights, a blanket or a warm jumper, I love the cable knit look. I will be wearing it, my house will be wearing it, even the littlest one will be snuggling under a cable knit blanket.

Crunchy leaves - The seasons are a sensory adventure for little feet, from soft sand in summer, puddle splashing in the winter and of course stomping through crunchy leaves in Autumn. I am looking forward to days at the park with the boys and that reassuring autumnal sound.

My scarf collection is pretty impressive and I love having an excuse to wear them.  There is something so comforting about a cosy neck and they can brighten even the most boring of outfits.

The footmuffs going back on the pushchair is a personal highlight as I think that babies look so comfy cocooned in them.  I am on the look out for some for the boys and have been eyeing up the icandy range at John Lewis (Our icandy cherry footmuff is so soft and warm).

Hot chocolate has to make the Autumn highlights list, we ventured down to a lovely cafe this weekend for a mug of the good stuff complete with whipped cream and mini marshmallows.

Slippers are another of my weaknesses and I like to have a pair in every room so that I don't have to go hunting when the coldness strikes my feet.  I have spent the weekend spreading them out in preparation for the season.

And finally, building dens - technically this can be done in any season but Autumn seems the best for it, and there is nothing more fun than eating snacks in a den!

So there are my Autumn favourites, what would you add to the list?
