These boys are not afraid to jump in the biggest, muddiest puddles (Even if the water rushes straight over the top of their boots), and they think nothing of sitting on a swing for hours in the pouring rain as long as their hoods are up. The rain means there are new things to see, from watching the way the water droplets hang on the leaves at the park to asking if the sea will fill up from the rain and overflow when we are down the beach. It ignites their curious side as they check to see whether the water makes the slide more slippery and they love coming home at the end for hot chocolate to warm us back up.
If you like rain as much as us, then Helly Hansen have a fantastic competition starting on instagram next week, so keep an eye out! Start snapping some pictures of you embracing the rain and check back on September 21st
Helly Hansen is a Norwegian brand who have revolutionised waterproof clothing and dress major athletes and sports stars - and of course my little family. Their waterproof gear is perfect for little adventurers like mine (and their parents too). They have sent us a gorgeous selection of rain gear that I can't wait to tell you more about!
They also sent us down to Cornwall to stay in a beautiful Natural Retreats Villa so that we could get muddy and wet at Badger Forest School and I have some brilliant photos of the rain gear in action. You can usually rely on the great British weather, but we somehow ended up with beautiful sunshine all weekend and only about half an hour of rain, but put two children in a forest with a river and a mud kitchen, and there are plenty of opportunities to test how waterproof the gear really is!

On the basis that I can't stay inside all day without the boys climbing the walls we have to love rain too! x
ReplyDeleteOh there is definitely that side to it too! I can't stand being inside all day with them

ReplyDeleteOh that sounds like so much fun!! I remember having Helly Hansen waterproofs and life jackets when I was little, it's good to know they're still making them, especially as we're another "out the door whatever the weather " family. I just keep meaning to get waterproof trousers for myself so I can keep up!
ReplyDeleteLove those HH wellies, will have to get the kids some x
ReplyDeleteThey are really good wellies, very sturdy
DeleteI love rain, but I don't like getting wet, so the right gear is essential. But I could walk for miles in the rain. I just don't like wind.
ReplyDeleteI hate getting wet and have one child exactly the same so will have to check out these clothes
ReplyDeleteLove love love Helly Hansen stuff, it was some of the only stuff I would buy when we lived in Scandinavia, where they truly do believe there isn't such a thing as bad weather, only bad clothing! :D
ReplyDeleteI love their attitudes, kids are allowed to be kids much more over there
DeleteI could have used a Helly Hansen jacket yesterday when I was in London and got drenched!!
ReplyDeleteI love Helly Hansen, such a great brand with really stylish gear - the Scandinavians really know how to deal with bad weather don't they?
ReplyDeleteThey do indeed, I am a bit of a scandi fan in every sense
DeleteI remember Helly Hanson from when I used to work on the oil rigs. We had some fab waterproofs out there. I will be checking instagram for sure!
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing quality! The instagram competition has started now
DeleteI know them, they do fab ski wear too, and sailing wear :) I don't have any of their stuff but hubby does and he loves them. Looking great here, and we are big puddle jumpers too!
ReplyDeleteThey do, we have ski jackets from Helly Hansen too and they are so warm and lovely
DeleteI have to admit I'm really bad for just getting out there when the weather is bad. Wilf is always dressed properly but I'm terrible for not dressing appropriately! x
ReplyDeleteOh I am the same, the kids are all wrapped up and I have soggy feet and cold hands usually, It is lovely to have a raincoat for me now!
DeleteWe love the rain too and can often be found sploshing about in muddy puddles. I need to buy some more raincoats though
ReplyDeleteIf the autumn continues like this then definitely!
DeleteThey look so cute, Helly Hansen is a much loved brand in this house too!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I love the rain but usually because I'm not prepaired. Kids love splashing about though :)
