5 Things not to miss on a Snowbizz Family Ski holiday

A  family ski holiday is first and foremost about the skiing, but of course there are so many other things to enjoy other than the bright white snow, and this is my pick of the top 5 not to miss on your Snowbizz family ski holiday at Puy St Vincent.  For our full review, take a peek here

Swim

There is something so ridiculously indulgent about lazing around in a beautifully warm pool surrounded by snow, and the new outdoor heated swimming pool in Puy st Vincent is stunning.  It is only a 2 minute walk from the apartments and at 30 degrees the water is perfect for relaxing in.  It is open from 3pm-7pm but the earlier in that time that you go, the more sun is on the pool and of course the more sun, the warmer the bits of you that aren't under water are! We went up on one of the first days when we were not as confident skiing on our own and fancied doing something different, and it was the perfect way to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.

Prezzo Spring Menu

Prezzo have a lovely new spring menu and we were invited to taste it for ourselves last month.  The new menu comprises of some small main courses that are perfect for sharing.  I went along with the bloke, my mum and dad and the two littles and we loved trying all the new dishes.

There were 8 new tasty additions and we ordered a large selection of dishes including 6 of the mini mains.  Prezzo recommends 2-3 per person and this seems like a good guide.

The firm favourite was the Carbonara Risotto - I could quite happily have eaten a huge bowl of it and it is really worth visiting just to try it out.  The Macaroni Florentine was gorgeously cheesy and also went down a treat.

Do not miss out this one!

I am not a fan of mushrooms, but my parents loved the Arancini (crispy risotto and mushroom balls) and the Mushroom Crostini and the prawn brushetta was refreshing and rather spicy with the chilli garlic butter.

All for one!

We also ordered the new executive Pizzas -steak and rocket and queen margherita.  They were both so much bigger than we imagined and were perfect for sharing although I could quite happily have eaten the queen margherita as a meal.  It was split into three sections so was far from boring, and the bechamel sauce and buffalo mozzarella third was divine.

Dylan picked his way through most of the dishes and seemed to enjoy each and every one.  The best thing about the tapas style meal is that you can try a bit of everything and there is always something that the littles will want to try as well.

Our meal ended as all good dinners should - with delicious deserts.  If you have not already tried Eton Mess Cheesecake then it is about time you went to your local Prezzo!

I would highly recommend the new Prezzo spring menu.  We had fantastic service and the food was incredible.   Every member of the family enjoyed it and we are all looking forward to visiting again (and ordering several portions of the carbonara risotto!)

Frankie & Benny's Review

Frankie and Benny's has always been a bit hit and miss in the past in terms of food and service, but it has been consistently improving and when we visited for the purpose of reviewing their new menu, I am delighted to say that we had a great experience.

We started with the garlic bread topped with goat's cheese and red onion, one of my favourite's and although a little undercooked for my liking, still divine as most goat's cheese based foods usually are.  We also had the calamari as Frankie and Benny's is the only chain restaurant where I find they get it spot on.  Not too chewy and tough, but lovely and flavoursome and served with a dip that complimented it beautifully.
