What the Kids Wore // Vertbaudet

Finally we are getting glimpses of Spring and I am avoiding any mention of a possible third 'Beast from the East' snow storm.  Everywhere I look I see daffodils sprouting, the sun is starting to warm my skin as I walk in it and we are getting outside much more.

Vertbaudet asked me to pick an outfit for the children, and I chose this top and trousers for finn as well as a dress and coatigan for Cora.  The dress is perhaps a little too summery for this weather so you can see only a glimpse of it underneath but the coatigan is perfect!

They love visiting soft play and playgrounds, but one of my favourite places to take them is into woodland as I get more of a glimpse into how their brains work.  I love watching them explore and notice things in nature.  Everything is for climbing on and Finn is full of questions.

Finn's trousers have an adjustable waist and roll up cuffs which means they are perfect for exploring. I can roll them up when he wants to take his shoes off and paddle in puddles! His top is lovely and soft and he loves that is says pirates on it.

Cora's coatigan is warm and lined and a lovely length to keep her warm as well as being Oeko-Tex certified.  I went for age 2 although she is a very petite child and usually wears either 9-12 months or 12-18 so the arms are a little long but I think it looks great with them rolled up.  She has refused to take it off all day which is a sign that she loves it too!  Vertbaudet sell a great selection of clothes for newborns, toddlers and children

What the Boys Wore - Vertbaudet

The bloke got made redundant at the end of June - something we found out was happening the same week Finn was born, but that still seemed to creep up out of nowhere.  The place he works was relocating to the other end of the country, and alongside having a new baby around, he has been job hunting.  Thankfully he found another job that he is really excited about, but there were two weeks of unemployment in the middle.

Somehow he timed this period with beautiful sunshine and as strange as it was having him around so much, it was lovely to be able to do things as a family more.  We spent one of the nicest days down at the beach, and Vertbaudet had sent us some summer bits for the boys to wear.

Maternity Fashion - Second Trimester

With this baby, I found myself digging out the maternity clothes before I even reached 8 weeks pregnant, it seems having babies so close together means your stomach muscles remember exactly what to do!  It has meant I have seen pretty much every season with a bump this time, and I have had to choose pieces that will last through the changes in weather as I grow.

Here are a few of my maternity favourites, sometimes I am in all maternity wear, and sometimes I have gone for normal clothes that have plenty of stretch or bought a few sizes up.  My style is comfortable and practical, as with a one and three year old I need to be prepared to tackle soft play, stand for hours outdoors and climb into their beds for a snuggle.

All of these are second trimester outfits, (with a 30 week one thrown in too).  I find at this stage I am still quite comfortable in maternity jeans and my tops generally still reach my underbump jeans.

Vertbaudet Baby Clothes Review

We were sent some clothes from the online store Vertbaudet and Archie has been doing a great job modelling them.

The sleepsuits feel lovely and soft and I love the designs.  The blue in the sleepsuits is not a shade I have seen much of and I thought it really suited my little man.  The sleepsuits do up in an old fashioned way with poppers on the back and I love the smooth look on the front and found them very easy to change a nappy in.  We were sent these sleepsuits in 'up to one month' and they were a little small on Archie, however he was a particularly long baby.  I would advise to go a size bigger if you want the clothes to last a little longer.

We have been able to show off this gorgeous outfit now that spring has arrived and the trousers and T-shirt look adorable!  I found that the outfit was soft and comfortable and is a great middle ground between sleepsuits and proper outfits.

Disclaimer:  We were sent a selection of items for Archie for the purpose of a review, however all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.
