I now share my house with four boys and I am starting to resign myself to the fact out house will never be quiet or tidy again. Muddy shoes are traipsed through the house, crumbs scattered on the floor and they seem to be creating 'art' everywhere they go (mostly in the style of Tracey Emin's Unmade Bed)
Whilst we settle into life as a five and having Finn at home with us, cleaning isn't top on my list of priorities, but with the mess that Dylan and Archie manage to make on a daily basis, having a hoover that can keep up with them is pretty important. Hoovering has the added bonus of calming the baby down too (all that nesting in the third trimester has paid off!)
We were sent the new Dyson Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner to review from John Lewis and it was love at first sight. The Animal is big, especially compared to our old Dyson, but it is so much more powerful too. It is easy to manoevre and seems to attract dirt as I see biscuit crumbs being sucked in before the Animal even reaches them.
It was easy to clean the stairs, and at the end of pregnancy I was very glad that the extendable handle could manage the whole flight without me needing to pick up the vacuum cleaner and carry it up the stairs. There are several attachments that are easy to use an very effective including one for animal hair.
My favourite feature though is probably the maintenance - There are no bags to empty and no filter to clean meaning less to worry about (ideal for life with three small children!). It is easy to empty with the click of a button and you can see how effective it is as you watch the front cylinder fill up.
This Dyson is very well built and the only downside we have come across is that it is very heavy to lift, so not ideal for carrying up and down stairs a lot.
Overall I am really impressed with this vacuum cleaner. It is extremely powerful and is coping with the demands of a busy house well. It looks smart and it definitely does the job. It retails at £419.95 from John Lewis and comes with a 5 year guarantee.
Disclaimer: I was sent this Dyson for the purpose of this post but all opinions and photos are completely my own.
That Dyson looks great! I have to admit our hoover is on its last legs and may soon be in the market for a new one. How is the suction on this we have thick carpets? xx
ReplyDeleteWe have had our animal Dyson for nearly 10 years, it was a great investment but we are definitely due an upgrade - that one looks amazing! x
ReplyDeleteSo so powerfully. I did not know that so much power could come out of a small vacuum cleaner. This vacuum is best for short pile carpets and flat flooring.
