What the Kids Wore // Me & I

One of the first non-hightstreet brands I discovered when Dylan was little was Me&I at the London baby show.  They had a little stall and I was immediately drawn to the bright colours and playful designs.  I bought a couple of bits for Dylan and he wore them so much as they were my absolute favourites.  They got saved for Archie who wore them too and more recently Finn has had his time with them.  Not many of Dylan's clothes lasted well enough to pass on, and the box of clothes that has been worn by all three boys and are still in good enough condition to pass on to Cora is tiny - in fact is only contains Me&I.

I am so impressed with how well their bits last, how well they wash and how vibrant they remain and I had so much fun picking something new for all four children.  In the end I went for matching (because who knows how long I can get away with that for!) and it had to be the dinosaur print.  They don't have anything that they can all match in and these were the perfect t-shirts for our holiday as it made keeping an eye on them so much easier.

I love how soft and stretchy they are, knowing that they are responsibly and ethically made and of course how well they last.  Poor Cora is going to be wearing this t-shirt until she is 8 years old!The print is fun and childish but still looks 'cool' enough for my five year old.  We paired it with soft denim shorts for the big two, blue shorts for Finn and blue leggings for Cora so they really did look pretty matchy!

You can shop from the comfort of your own home in two ways with Me & I - You can order online via your local seller (find them here) or you can book a party, invite all your friends and have a rep come and show you through the new collection.  You can see all the prints in real life and even try one some of the ladies clothing.

We have found the t-shirts fit quite true to size.  Cora is 10 months and in 74/80, Finn is a short 2 year old in 86/92, Archie wears 110/116 and Dylan is a tall 5 year old in 122/128.

Most of the designs are really unisex so perfect for handing down and the baby range is all organic cotton.  Me and I are a brand who care deeply about how our clothes are made and have strict guidelines in place to enforce a safe working environment.  The clothes are made in Portugal and Turkey.

Thank you to Me&I for sending us these gorgeous t-shirts for the children, we love them.

What the Kids Wore // Tootsa MacGinty

We have a beach just a few minutes walk from our front door and many others really close, but we love to hop on the train sometimes and head to Whitstable as instead of sand they have a pebble beach.  The boys love finding shells, skimming stones and exploring somewhere a bit different, and I love wondering along the sea front past the stalls selling fresh oysters and prawns.

Tootsa MacGinty, one of our favourite ethical brands have just launched their new collection and one of my favourite items was the Peru jumper.  It comes in four different designs that look amazing together and seperately and works perfectly for my four children.  Tootsa create clothes for children and their unisex designs are colourful and fun as well as beautifully made and long lasting.  Everything we have had from them has washed so well and Cora has lots of Tootsa to grow into from her brothers!

I took some photos last weekend whilst we were enjoying the early Spring sunshine at the beach.  The children look so perfectly co-ordinated without being matching and the vibrant colours really stand out. The whole range is really imaginative and playful and all the jersey wear is organic cotton.

The boys all love their jumpers and it has opened up lots of conversations about animals and the rainforests too.  These are ideal for layering and will last us through the spring and the British summer too.

The sizing on these is quite true, however if you are trying to decide between two sizes I would definitely recommend sizing up. (Cora (8m) is in 6-12 months, Finn (2) is in 2-3, Archie (4) is wearing 5-6 and Dylan (5.5) is in 6-7).

Thank you to Tootsa for sending us the perfect Spring jumpers!

What the Kids Wore // Lamb and Bear

I love finding new independent brands to buy for the kids.  I love them wearing things a bit different and I am passionate about supporting small businesses and other Mums.  Lamb and Bear is a brand started by a fellow blogger and her leggings are just stunning.  I love the penguins, the stegosaurus and these awesome crocodiles

I think this print looks great on both boys and girls and Finn and Cora look adorable together in their matching leggings.  The dribble scarves are not absorbent like a bib but they look sweet and Cora definitely enjoyed chewing hers.  It did catch her dribbles and kept her vest dry for a while though and I really like the co-ordination of the outfit.

The leggings are similar in size to Zara, Cora is wearing 3-6 here and Finn is in 18-24.  These are the sizes they usually wear and they are a comfortable fit on them both.  I love the contrast orange stitching and how well made and strong these feel.

These are definitely one of my favourite things in their wardrobes and I have just ordered some for Archie too as he loves crocodiles and I think he will love them.  They are available from 0-3 months to 3-4 years.  Check out Lamb and Bear to see them all.  You can also add an organza gift bag to your order if you are buying for a gift too!

What the Boys Wore - Polarn O Pyret

All children are created equal, they are all the same, yet so different.  Babies are just that and whilst their gender plays a part in many things, it doesn't need to affect how we dress them and Polarn o Pyret's latest collection 'Same difference' celebrates unisex design.   Known for their long-lasting and bright designs, this Scandinavian company have a reputation for great quality and clothes that can last through many children and this wonderful unisex outfit that Finn is wearing will be perfect for our baby girl to wear next year too.

I am sorry for yet more beach pictures, but it is our favourite place to be at the moment and these clothes are perfect for a crawling, cruising, climbing baby in the sand.  The wonderfully bright rainbow stripes mean I can always spot him and the soft stretchy fabric doesn't restrict him at all as he explores.

The purple shorts seemed to be a head turner and we had so many positive comments about how nice it was to see a boy in purple.  Often purple is confined solely to the girls section but these shorts are ideal for a child whatever the sex in.  They looked lovely on finn's little legs and were generously sized for his cloth nappy too

I love Finn in bright colours and these items are going to be a staple part of his summer wardrobe.  I really love that the range goes from birth to 6 years (and the sizing is generous) so you can buy matching for siblings too.  In fact, Britney bump has a short sleeved vest in the rainbow stripes that I cannot wait to get her in!

The t-shirt and shorts are currently both £10 each in the baby sizes (up to 2 years) and the range includes a hat, dress and playsuit as well as other items.  You can find them on the Polarn o Pyret website

What the Boys Wore - Tootsa MacGinty

It is fair to say that the lovely November and December weather we have had is a distant memory now that the January rain has descended.  Dylan is back at school and on the two days he has off each weekend, the weather is rarely nice enough to do much outdoors.  We try not to let it stop us and this weekend we took the scooters and Smartrike down to the seafront to blow off the cobwebs.

Things didn't go to plan, as they often don't this time of year,  The long stretch of seafront we were planning to walk along was shut off as they were doing building works and as soon as we got down there it started raining.  The walk from our house down to the sea was lovely though and we found our favourite little cafe on the prom for some cheesy chips and a hot cup of tea.

The boys were sent some beautiful clothes from one of our favourite brands, Tootsa MacGinty which I have been trying to photograph for a couple of weeks but the rain seems to always get in the way.  The shots I was hoping for by the sea had to be rethought so I have only a few from the journey down there to share.

Tootsa clothes are designed to be unisex, well made and perfect for handing down to siblings and with three boys and a fourth baby on the way this is really important for us.  I absolutely love their knits, especially Archie's cardigan and the boys cords are matching but in different colours and both have little foxes poking out the back pockets.  The trousers are fully lined in a warm jersey cotton, have adjustable waists and look and feel so comfortable.  For my active duo they are perfect, offering flexibility and comfort as well as being hard wearing.

Finn was sent a beautiful outfit too, although it was too cold to get his jumper out.  His leggings are covered in clouds and rainbows (I find it hard to resist anything with clouds and rainbows on) and two different coloured cuffs.  I love how unique they and the jumper he has goes so well.  Keep an eye out on social media as I will be getting some photos of him as soon as it is back out of the wash!

Tootsa Macginty has a huge sale on at the moment so you can grab a bargain.  All the items featured here are now half price.  If you are in between sizes I would suggest sizing up.
