Introducing the iCandy Orange

Last week Cora and I attended the unveiling of iCandy's newest pushchair, the iCandy Orange.  Taking things to the next level, the Orange works as a travel system, a single or double pushchair and has a built in ride-on board. The innovative design has been years in the making and this iconic British brand seem to have thought of everything.

iCandy orange, new iCandy pushchair

As a parent who uses a double buggy, one of the biggest choices has been whether to go for an inline pushchair for convenience, or whether to choose a side by side so that I can keep my children parent facing.  The iCandy Orange offers the perfect middle ground thanks to its 'cinematic seating' as both children can be parent facing and in my eye line.  With other 30 combinations, this pushchair can work in so many different ways and for a young family like ours that is invaluable.

The built in ride-on step means never having to worry about attaching a board before you leave the house and knowing tired older siblings can just jump on.  I love the way that the iCandy Orange works with any combination of my children!  The handle height on the Orange is more adjustable than ever as well so you won't be bumping your shins on the board.

We are currently using the iCandy Peach and there are quite a few differences.  The carrycot on the orange is considerably bigger and Cora still had a lot of space in it at 7 months old.  The seat unit comes with a removable padded insert to make it more cosy for younger babies and the hood extends much further with the option to unzip a mesh panel at the back.  Both pushchairs are the same width, but the basket on the orange is bigger and more accessible.  I think the Orange is not going to be quite as lightweight to push as the peach, however the frame is still incredibly light.  Both pushchairs are freestanding when folded and both have carrycots suitable for overnight sleeping.

This pushchair will be released in March and I can't wait to see them out and about.  It will be retailing at £790 and that price will get you

iCandy Peach Blossom

With two children that can't yet walk, a double buggy is a part of our everyday life and Finn and Cora have been enjoying their new set of wheels.  We bought our first iCandy pushchair when we were pregnant with Dylan over 5 years ago and they are a brand that we trust and love.  The iCandy Peach Blossom is a versatile double travel system which I have found comfortable for both children, easy to push and ideal for getting around.

This pushchair can be used for two newborns, two toddlers or a newborn and toddler.  Both positions can be used with a carrycot, car seat or child seat although so far we have only used it in the combo shown in these pictures.

Cora has a carrycot on the bottom and unlike the apple2pear this one is rigid.  It feels and looks secure and snug and is easy to attach and remove.  The carrycot, like with most double buggies, is relatively small but Cora fits perfectly and still has growing room in all directions.  It is suitable for overnight sleeping and we often use it for daytime naps if she lets me put her down.

Finn sits up top at the moment and as a large 17 month old he still has plenty of space.  The straps are easy to adjust and do up and he loves his new ride.  The seat can be reclined easily and Finn has no problem falling asleep in there.  In this mode, the seats both face outwards, but when we change to two seats we can have them both facing in, with the top seat closer to me.  I do miss having Finn facing me and that is one of the only changes I would make to the peach blossom.

The peach is easy to fold, but both seats and the adaptors need to be removed first.  It doesn't take long and everything slots back in to place very easily.  The chassis has a long strap so that it can be carried over one shoulder and that has been brilliant when taking it out and into the car.

The black chassis really stands out and I love the colours of this pushchair.  I chose it knowing I would be using it for both a boy and girl and I love pushing it.  We are finding that the black frame scratches more than our others but with four small children to hustle out the door each morning it may be the way we treat things.

This pushchair can also be used as a single and I have loved taking it out with just one baby in it as well.  In double mode with a carrycot the basket size is limited ( but still able to fit in two raincovers, two blankets and jumpers for all four children) but in single mode the basket is huge and perfect for shopping!

I love pushing the peach and can do so one handed with no problems.  Curbs are easy to manoever and it is much lighter than I expected considering there are two children in there.  We have the seat unit ready for when Cora is sitting up so I will update this post when we have given it a good go with two full size seats.

I love this pushchair and it fits our needs perfectly at the moment.  Both children are comfortable and secure and I love the way it feels to push.  This buggy looks great and we have so many compliments.
The Peach Blossom is currently £955 for the main components, and then an extra £172.50 for the carrycot.  There are lots of other co-ordinated accessories you can buy from footmuffs to travel bags to cup holders.

iCandy Newborn Gift Set

We have been iCandy fans since before our first baby even arrived and I am loving having the opportunity to work with iCandy now through my blog.  They sent me this beautiful gift set before our baby girl arrived and I love the simple classic style.  It comes in a little white case which is perfect for saving those baby keepsakes and comes with a hat, mittens, booties, a ribbon tape measure and a wonderful toy.

It isn't quite the weather to wrap up warm but these accessories are so cute and are such amazing quality.  The pram toy will be hanging on our iCandy Peach ready for Cora when she can control her arms a little better and the tape measure has gone round my bump as well as measuring all 52.5cm of baby girl.

The accessories are all perfectly sized for a newborn baby - they fit a nearly 3 week old Cora just perfectly.  I adore the little booties, there is something so sweet about shoes so tiny!

This beautiful gift set is £50 and available from the iCandy website.

The iCandy Apple2pear with a Newborn

We have had our iCandy apple2pear for about 2 years now and it is still our favourite double buggy.  It has carried all three of my babies at different times, and when Finn came along I knew that we would use it for him.

iCandy kindly sent us the newborn carrycot and for the past 6 months Finn has been testing it out.  The carrycot is soft, with no solid frame.  You have to remove the seat unit from the metal frame to attach it, and it hangs down from poppers and velcro at the top.  This makes it ideal or popping in the car boot as hard carrycots take up much more space.  It isn't easy to take off the seat fabrics, so this isn't something you can swap over daily, but once it is on it feels very secure.

The iCandy Raspberry

iCandy raspberry review, icandy Raspberry, icandy black and yellow

I first saw the iCandy Raspberry at the Babyshow nearly a year ago and fell in love.  It offered the features I loved about strollers, but with the style and options you associate with a travel system.  It comes in such a variety of colours that when I was offered one to review I struggled, but the black chassis and yellow colour pack was perfect for our bright family.

We have been testing this pushchair now for a few months, and on the whole, I love it.  It looks stunning in my opinion, the black chassis is strong and doesn't scratch and the icandy logo is etched in so that it can't rub off as it does on some pushchairs.  The yellow is bright and cheers up even the coldest of days and despite plenty of use, it still looks immaculate.

The icandy Emilia changing bag is from their gorgeous new range of changing bags.  They have been making luxury pushchairs for years, but their first foray into the world of bags is a total success.  We were sent the Emilia in white to try and I love it.

Pushchairs to look out for in 2014

As you may have noticed, I have a bit of a thing for buggies.  As a non-driver, they are my only set of wheels and I love discovering new brands, new designs and spotting them out and about.  After having the opportunity to test a few, I do feel like I know my stuff too, and the Baby Show last weekend only served to fuel this obsession.  I thought I would share my top 5 for 2014 - new colours, styles or updates for the year that I think are going to be big

First up is the icandy Raspberry.  I bought a Cherry when I was pregnant with Dylan and still love it now.  Icandy pushchairs are noticeable, well made and I love the beautiful colours for this new design.  The Raspberry is new and is a from birth stroller that will be available from spring/summer this year.  It can be world or parent facing and folds incredibly compactly with the seat still on.  It lies flat and I mean completely flat which makes it suitable for a newborn, or for those rather odd babies like mine who will not sleep on their back even in a buggy! The black chassis is classy and makes the coloured hood really pop, and there is a silver aluminium option too.  With interchangeable colour packs that come in 7 gorgeous shades, the buggy can change with the season or your mood.  I love the black chassis, and for me the lush(red) or sunflower(yellow) are the best colours - bright and unisex.  Everything seems so well thought out from the adjustable handle, the way it folds with the handle in the air, and the hard case at the front of the buggy for storage.
