The Very Hungry Caterpillar Baby Bundle Giveaway

One of our favourite classic stories is The Hungry Caterpillar and it inspired Archie's nursery as a baby as well as his newborn photo shoots.  Even at 4 and 5, my big boys love the tale and it is one we read regularly.  Sainsbury's have released a Spring collection featuring images from Eric Carle's iconic story which are available in sizes 0-12 months.  The unisex collection is bright and fun and available in stores as well as online.

Very Hungry Caterpillar baby grow

Cora has been snuggling up in the sleepsuit and I love the vibrant colours and that there are little grips on the bottom of her feet now that she is in the bigger size.

I have a prize bundle to give away to one lucky reader, consisting of the entire range - a sleepsuit, vest, summer romper, bib and towel.

To be in with a chance of winning, follow the instructions on the rafflecopter form below.

Win // Skin Doctors

I was recently sent some lovely items to include in a Mother's Day gift guide which included Skin Doctor's Beelift face cream and Younger Hands hand cream.  I am only a few days into using them, but I am really enjoying pampering myself and looking after my skin.

Here is what Skin Doctors have to say:

Beelift helps fight premature ageing ensuring that your skin is nourished, renewed and revitalised. Beelift contains the Bee Venom (Melittin), Manuka Honey, the collagen treatment Trylagen® and Hyadisine® - a complex mix of peptides, amino acids, proteins and key enzymes. Together these ingredients trick the skin into thinking it has been lightly stung, instantly working to control facial muscles for cumulative tightening, lifting, plumping and firming of the skin.
Beelift is clinically proven to
  • Increase Collagen by up to 300%
  • Cumulative skin tightening
  • Plumping and firming of the skin

Take 10 years off your hands in just 6 weeks! The combination of active ingredients in Younger Hands works on the most common skin concerns, with dramatic results:
  • Skin is visibly plumper with thickness and texture returning to the levels of 10 years ago
  • Fine lines and wrinkles are dramatically reduced, with the appearance of wrinkle depth and roughness reduced by more than half in 28 days
  • Age spots and freckles are visibly lightened. Skin is resurfaced, unveiling a smoother, more uniform appearance
  • Skin is hydrated and softened
  • Contains SPF 15 UVA/UVB protection to help prevent further ageing

I have a wonderful Mother's Day bundle to give away consisting of beelift, younger hands and a pair of The White Company cashmere socks, total RRP is over £100!  his is perfect for the Queen Bee in your life and entry is via the simple rafflecopter form below.

Good luck!!

Win // aden + anais

It is just over a week until Mother's Day and aden + anais have offered me a wonderful bundle to give away to a reader.  If you have a little baby then they may struggle to show their appreciation next Sunday so why not treat yourself? I have a set of three muslins and a co-ordinated layette to give away this week and these muslins are perfect for use as a scarf for Mum if you don't want to keep them for baby.

aden + anais, muslin romper

I am a huge fan of aden + anais muslins, they are so soft and wash really well and I had never thought of using one as a scarf before, but I am totally going to be pinching this idea now! Cora has one of their muslin sleepsuits and it looks so comfy and cute - I am a little jealous that I am giving this one away and not keeping it for her!  The layette is available in 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 or 9-12 months.

The swaddle pack retails at £38.95 and the layette is £23

To be in with a chance to win this bundle, then follow the instructions on the rafflecopter below.  I will announce the winner on Mother's Day.

Win £250 to Spend with Tile Mountain

With the arrival of Cora last year, our house is feeling well and truly outgrown.  There are now twice as many people as bedrooms and our tiny box kitchen isn't coping well with having six mouths to feed.  We need to move somewhere bigger and more practical and whilst the idea of moving with so many small people fills me with dread, the opportunity to decorate a new house is rather tempting.

My favourite part of the day is often once the children are in bed, when I get a chance to soak in a hot bubbly bath and I am dreaming of a beautiful bathroom.  I love the glass effect tiles that Tile Mountain have, they are bright and calming and I imagine they will make any bathroom feel more like a mini spa.

If you have been dreaming of the perfect bathroom, want to update your kitchen or have decided it would be sensible to tile the entire house because your children are so messy and it is easier to clean (something we have been seriously considering!) then I have the perfect giveaway.  I have a £250 e-voucher for Tile Mountain to giveaway to one lucky ready, just follow the instructions on rafflecopter below.

Star Wars Toys from Thinkaway

Dylan has recently become rather obsessed with Star Wars which I find rather funny considering he hasn't even seen any of the films.  His glasses have Yoda on the side - they were the only ones he would even consider, and his favourite t-shirt has Stormtroopers on the front.  His Christmas list has 'Star Wars toys' on it which is a very broad term considering how many there are to choose from!

I remember watching the original Star Wars films as a child and then going to the cinema to see the more recent three.  None of us have seen The Force Awakens yet but my plan is to get the DVD and watch it myself first to see whether it is suitable for Dylan and introduce him to some of the earlier films if not.

It is crazy how Star Wars has such a cult following across all ages and even children who haven’t seen the films are going crazy for the merchandise.  I think part of the appeal for my boys is the robot characters as they have always loved robots and they are drawn towards the R2D2 and C3P0 characters.  I would love to get Dylan a Star Wars toy this Christmas and Thinkway Toys have a couple of great options that I think he would love,

This 16 inch tall remote control BB-8 moves in all directions as well as spinning and rolling.  BB-8 has over 20 original droid-speak phrases as well as special preprogrammed actions with different moods – happy, sad, excited, worried, scared and frustrated.  BB-8 also makes different sound effects whilst his head moves, and a voice activated feature allows you to interact with him via a built-in microphone

This interactive R2D2 responds to pre-programmed instructions via the remote control, moving in all directions as it makes original movie sound effects and moves its head.  Using the 10 buttons on the remote control you can program over 1000 action combos or activate R2-D2's special projection facility to view an imprisoned Princess Leia™.

If you want to know more about the Star Wars toys that Thinkaway Toys have then why not hop over to twitter and join us for a twitter party on Wednesday 30th November 1-2:30pm, there will be Toys'r'us vouchers up for grabs too.  Follow me on twitter and the hashtag #ImAThinkingToy

If you fancy winning an R2D2 toy in time for Christmas then we have one to give away, entry is via the simple rafflecopter form below.

Win a Kids Carwash Kit

My children are desperate to earn some money of their own at the moment, they are always asking for jobs to earn a little money and the list of things they are saving for seems to be growing daily.  We give them tasks to complete to earn some pennies, usually things like tidying up or sweeping, and Vauxhall's recent survey showed that 36% of children are paid to wash cars.

My boys are still a bit young to be send out to work (they can't quite reach the roof yet) but it is definitely something I will give them the chance to do in a few years and Vauxhall have created packs for young entrepreneurs who wan't to start up their own car washing franchise.

The Vauxhall Kids Carwash Franchise starter-pack gives you everything you need to start your own business, including:

  • Car-washing equipment – including a bucket, sponge and squeegee
  • A pop-up Kids Carwash sign to advertise your business
  • Kids Carwash business cards so you can drum up trade
  • A ‘How to’ guide to carwash like a pro
  • Kids Carwash badges
  • Fold your own money box, where you can collect your hard-earned cash.

I have teamed up with Vauxhall to offer 10 carwash kits to you guys so enter via the rafflecopter below! If anyone local to me wants to enter then that would be great as our car really needs a wash!

Merci Maman Giveaway

We know Merci Maman for their beautifully engraved jewellery, but they have recently expanded their range and offer a home range full of gorgeous embroidered baby gifts.  We were sent a personalised gift box for Cora  and it arrived equisitely packaged in a white box and wrapped in tissue paper.

The gift set contains a hooded towel, two muslins and a comforter, each personalised with her name.  This is a perfect gift for a baby with a more unusual name and definitely something to be saved in the baby box.

The girl's box has both a pink and white muslin and a choice of two comforters.  The muslins are pretty big (75 x 75) and the comforter is the perfect size for little arms to cuddle.

Merci Maman offer free delivery with a choice to upgrade it to next day delivery if you need it sooner.

The towel is 100% cotton and feels lovely and soft. It is ideal for baby bathtime and Cora looks so snuggly in hers.

Not only was I sent one to review, I also have an embroidered gift box just like this one to giveaway.  The winner can pick either the pink or blue set and personalise it with the name of your choice.  Entry is simple via the rafflecopter form below.

Mr Men Birthday Party

Dylan has been getting excited about his birthday for ages, all his invitations are hand written, he has chosen the place, what he wants his cake to look like and every detail - the fact that he wasn't born until August didn't stop the party planning beginning as soon as Christmas was over and done with.  We were asked to throw a Mr Men birthday party to celebrate that Roger Hargreaves would have celebrated his birthday today and I knew the boys would love a reason to party!

In honour of his birthday, two new books are now available, Mr Men Birthday Party as well as a Silly Birthday book that can be personalised with your child's details.

As the weather has been so nice recently, we decided to throw our birthday party outside, and we had a birthday picnic party instead.  Armed with our Mr Men plates, cups, napkins and table cloth we took our tea to the park and the boys loved our own special party.

No birthday party is complete without cake, although most cakes are better when a three year old hasn't sat on them! (this one is available from Tesco).  Being the ultra prepared parent I am, I of course forgot a knife, but we got into the party spirit with our very own cake smash - the boys couldn't believe their luck when I told them they could dig in!

Our party wouldn't have been complete without a fancy dress competition and there were three entrants (the bloke was never going to get involved and Archie wasn't feeling great and decided not to take part).  We have. . .

Mr Strong

Mr Bump

and Mr Greedy

Who do you think should win?

To help celebrate, I have a copy of the Mr Men Birthday Party to give away - just follow the simple rafflecopter entries below.  If you want to get your hands on a personalised story then the code 'Pblogger20 ' will save you 20%

Never too young to get Cleaning - COMPETITION

This pregnancy has been exhausting and during the first 12 (20) weeks, I really struggled to stay on top of the house.  The washing piled up, the bathroom needed a serious deep clean and the floors collected crumbs so quickly that I was very glad that Finn wasn't yet crawling.  It made me realise that something had to give, and that we needed a new routine and as the bigger boys are now four and three, that they could be given some responsibility for looking after the house.

We haven't given them set chores, but instead I find that giving them different tasks each day helps keep them interested and excited, especially if there is an element of competition involved.  One thing that I have discovered that they love to do it use a broom, and so sweeping the dining room has become one of their regular tasks.

They take it in turns to use the broom and the dustpan and brush and the best thing about being so small is that you can get right under the table!  These are jobs that are starting to take a strain on my back as my bump grows and their enthusiasm makes it more of a game than a chore.

Getting them to do more of the small jobs that I would do without thinking also seems to be teaching them responsibility and the more they do them the more they become an unquestionable part of life.  Taking their plates into the kitchen once they are done, scraping food into the food bin, folding school clothes that will be worn again the next day (on the odd occasion that he manages to keep something clean), sorting the recycling.  I never really asked for help before this pregnancy but now that I need it they have shown me that they were ready all along.

Finn is still too young to really get involved, although the idea of strapping things to his hands and knees and getting him to clean the floors hasn't completely left my mind - he does love crawling in and then sliding backwards on his tummy so he may as well be polishing whilst he is there!  Hopefully as he grows up watching his brothers help out around the house he will pick up the habits naturally.

My top tips for getting children involved in the housework are:

-Make it into a game or competition - they love excitement and can find it in anything so help them along the way.

-Think of simple age appropriate tasks, emptying washing machines, tidying toys, laying the table and sweeping are all ok for a four year old.

-Do it as a family - put on some loud music, have a dance as you clean and all do a different task in the same room together.  It feels like a group activity and things get done so much quicker.

-Be careful with chemicals - I don't let them near anything strong, but we do have cleaning wipes for them to use that are very mild.  Keep everything stored safely in case they decide to do some impromptu cleaning whilst you aren't looking!

-Make it become routine as quickly as you can so they do their tasks automatically rather than feeling like a request each day.

I also shared some tips over on the Argos page so check it out!

This pregnancy has definitely taught me to do what I can and not stress about the rest.  Bursts of energy are spent giving one room a deep clean and I am desperately hoping that the nesting instinct kicks in this time, I seem to have skipped it in my other pregnancies!

How do you encourage your children to get involved with the housework?

There is a fantastic competition to win £250 of Argos vouchers to spend on a floor-care product, to enter simply share a photo on social media (facebook, twitter or instagram) of your family fun cleaning routine and use the hashtag #Cleaningwithkidscomp.

What the Boys Wore - Growing Needs (Giveaway)

One of the best things about winter approaching is the clothes.  Finn's wardrobe is pretty comfy looking as it is, but when you add in some snuggly all in ones then I get pretty jealous!

This Frugi hooded snuggle suit came from Growing Needs and it is perfect for babywearing.  The same material and thickness of a hoodie but with the added benefit of legs too!  Frugi are a company I have bought since Dylan was born as their clothes are designed in Cornwall and cut for cloth nappies.  Growing Needs is an independent retailer run by the lovely Rebecca stocking ethical fashion and eco/organic baby products and toys.

Buying Ethical has become more and more important for me since having children, as has supporting small businesses and work at home mums.  As a work at home mum myself, I know how valuable it is being able to work around children, how hard we work to support our families and that buying from a small business means paying for a child's swimming lessons and school trips.

This giraffe suit is such great quality and perfect for this in between weather.  Over the winter we will layer up more, but as babies don't need as many layers in a sling, I know we will get so much use from this.  This is size 6-12 months on my 8 month old and it has got plenty of growing space, even with a full outfit underneath.

I have a fantastic giveaway today to win a £20 voucher for Growing Needs to spend on anything you like.  From beautiful dungarees to wooden toys and fluffy cloth nappies, it isn't easy to choose, but head over to Growing Needs and pick your favourite thing to enter the giveaway

Giveaway ends on Sunday 15th November 2015 at 11:59pm.  UK entrants only, no bulk or third party entries. This giveaway is not endorsed by facebook.  Prize provided by Growing Needs.

Noa and Nani Cabin Bed Giveaway

Dylan loves his new bed, everything from the ladder to get in to the tent underneath and the boys have so much more space in their room with the little den underneath.  The pirate cabin bed is only £149.99 including the tent and I think this is a great price for a full sized single bed that offers this much fun. (For more pictures of his new pirate room check out this post)

It didn't take us long to build thanks to easy instructions and well manufactured wood and the bed is solid and stable.  The slanted ladder makes it easier for younger children and the bed is at a great height, that I can still kiss Dylan's head as he sleeps.

Our Advent Box

The first of December is withing touching distance and I am getting just a little excited! I have tried to keep away from most of the early festivities so that I don't have to wake up to 'Is it Christmas now?' every day for too long, but from December 1st we will be in full flow.

Last year, we had a box of goodies downstairs for the boys on December 1st and this year we are doing something very similar.  It is partly practical things, but we want to start the magic early, so here is our Advent Box.

Advent Box, december box, getting ready for Christmas, advent for toddlers

Both the boys have a new pair of festive pyjamas to wear from Gap, and some funky Christmas socks to keep their feet warm as the weather gets colder.  They have a book - The Grinch stole Christmas - which we choose as they both love the Cat in the Hat and the other Dr Seuss books we have, alongside an activity book full of things we can do and make over the month.

I bought Archie a new nappy as I couldn't resist this TotsBots Frugi print, and I got Dylan a reindeer mug for those snuggly evenings with hot chocolate.  The boys also have a lovely plate sent to us by Born Gifted with their names on the bottom, so we can start getting excited about the big day.

As well as a more traditional advent calender, they have this gorgeous playmobil one which I know is going to be a big hit! I can't wait to see the little santa and reindeer!

I can't wait for Monday knowing that Dylan understands so much more, although I am a little scared of putting Archie and a tree in the same room!

Disclaimer:  The plate and the advent calender were sent to us but everything else has been paid for by myself.

Hello Daisy Review and Giveaway

After 2 boys, it is safe to say our house has seen enough baby blue.  It looked lovely on Dylan, but it didn't take long for me to realise that it isn't the only colour little boys can wear, and for some it just doesn't suit them. I have always preferred Archie in brights and colours and it suits his personality.  Blogging has opened up my eyes to so many different styles of clothing, and I am loving finding some less 'baby blue' clothes ready for our newest arrival.

Hello Daisy asked me to check out their website and the first place I looked was the clothes.  I loved the colours and styles in the boys and unisex sections and how unique they were.  We chose a lovely organic sleepsuit ready for Pretzel's arrival next year and I can't wait to see our little guy in it! It is beautifully soft, feels well made and I just love the colour scheme.

Trunki Paddlepak Review and Giveaway

Every morning at the moment, Dylan wakes up and repacks his Trunki suitcase, in preperation for a holiday that is still over a week away.  He loves the responsibility of knowing it is his, and that he chooses what comes with us.  We were recently sent a paddlepak, the water resistant bag from Trunki, that is perfect not just for swimming, but for little adventures too.

Trunki paddlepak, lobster paddlpak

Dylan loves deciding what to bring with him - usually something completely unpractical of course, and our Pinch the lobster Paddlepak came perfectly packed with some Ella's Kitchen goodies inside.  We had a lovely family day out, and as well as carrying round his snacks and spare clothes, there was also space for those essentials, like a new cup and a pressed penny.

The Paddlepak is a fantastic bag, available in a variety of fishy designs.  The top is rolled down three times and secured with a buckle, making it airtight.  It is great as a swim bag, and is perfectly sized for a kid's towel, swim suit and of course the all important after swimming snack.  The tale holds a secret zipped pocket perfect for pocket money too.  On its own the bag is incredibly lightweight.

Trunki are giving me one of their paddlepaks to give away, just enter via the rafflecopter form below
