Recently

May has brought with it lots of days off, a reason to start running again and of course some beautiful sunshine.  I haven't taken my camera out very much recently, but these are a few snaps from the times I did.

We have spent long afternoons in the park, have seen friends and family ever day and have had our fair share of parties to attend as well.  May has involved digging the shorts out the back of the cupboard, making suncream a staple part of the changing bag and plenty of sandcastles on the beach.  Even if the weather doesn't last, we have had the last couple of weeks and we have spent as much of it as possible outside.

We were invited to the joint birthday party of Kara from Innocent Charmer's two eldest - Grayson and Addison and the boys loved every minute, from the giraffe shaped sandwiches to the slides and bouncy castle in the garden.  Dylan hovered around the cake table most of the time, drifting off only to proclaim that he could still smell the cake before heading back.  Archie on the other hand was off exploring with a giant grin on his face most of the afternoon.

Vicky let me try out her camera lens as I am still using the kit lens, and I could really see the difference.  I know what will be on my birthday wishlist this year!  I love this picture of Archie outside on the bouncy castle, as the prime lens gives a much higher aperture.

We spent a lovely afternoon walking along the river in Canterbury looking for ducks (and preventing Archie from climbing in!)

Archie is a mischievious one, and incredibly determined to go with it.  The biggest sign that he is up to no good is noticing the tip of his tongue escaping his mouth.  Rather than the tongue of concentration, we have the tongue of trouble, and I finally managed to get a photo of it!

And finally a picture from a lovely morning at the park with friends.  It may have been roasty toasty, but Dylan refused to take off his jumper. Big swings are made for sharing though, and I couldn't resist getting a quick shot of them together, even if they don't look terribly impressed!

Recently life has been colourful, warm and full of the smells of summer.  How about yours?

  1. I love that Archie has a trouble face! We are all loving the warmer weather too. We've even had the paddling pool out. Interesting that Dylan's not wanted his jumper off. Talitha and I have had quite a few conversations about tights! I guess the move from season to season must be strange for them.

    1. I am not sure that Dylan is going to be too impressed when we get him some sandals, and he keeps asking to wear his winter hat!

  7. Gosh Archie is growing up fast! I am in awe of you as Syd is the same age as Dylan and I have my hands full just with him! My other two are much older so don't need so much hands on looking after these days thank fully! Gorgeous pics, love the cheeky tongue poking out!

    1. I think because Dylan is quite chilled it has been easier having two small ones together - I am not sure we would have had quite as small an age gap if we had had Archie first! hehe

  20. Oh they're all stunning photos - and yes, prime lenses are awesome - my 35mm is the lens that lives on my camera and I love being able to use a really low f-stop, especially in low light - fingers crossed for you for your birthday!

  22. We've loved the summer-like days we've had recently. It's turned to rain for the past few days but I'm not complaining because it means one less job in the garden to do!
